Chasing The Distance”

“The road disappears into the wavering sky, Bright & sparkling like the Fourth of July...”

A cross-country family car trip on two lane highways to visit the kin or relocate  from one coast to the other. Three days and three nights clopping along over divided concrete slabs at sixty miles per hour. Kids in the back seat playing “eye spy”, “popeye” and reading Burma Shave signs while mom & dad in the front seat share the driving stopping only to refuel the car or the starving kids.

“Storms Along the Way”

“…hope comes to you…even through…the storms along the way...”

Dedicated to all the young warriors who raised their right hand and leapt into the great unknown in service to their country.

“Friends Are Hard To Come By”

“One true friend you can count in a lifetime…”

Know & cherish your true friends while you can. Don’t wind up looking back with regrets.

"Susan ( I was Looking for You)"

“Went around the world and when I got through…Susan, I was looking for you…”

What you’re really looking for often turns out to have been right next door all along.

Grandpa and Ada.JPG

“(Not Another Freakin’) Gospel Song”

Cross over the muddy river and watch the castles burn…”

To everyone who’s struggled with the spiritual quest…a light hearted Country tune inspired by Southern gospel forms in a sing-along wrapped loosely around the idea of finding peace in the journey.

“Big Fat Kitty”

“Mama’s little pride and joy…”

A fingerstyle guitar romp chronicling a large, much beloved but otherwise useless feline.

“Honky Tonk Street”

“Hope fades so fast down on Honky-Tonk Street…”

Faithless love, a barstool and drunken, faded dreams. The usual stuff of cry in your beer country ballads with a slight hidden twist. Thanks to John Miller - late of the Unusual Suspects.

“Green-Eyed Gal”

“A gal, a guitar and a desire”

An instrumental fingerstyle guitar romp in the key of ‘G’ major. A fickle little emerald-eyed female lurks in between the riffs. Inspiration from and thanks to Jorma Kaukonen.

"Town Around Here”

“Someday they won’t even know there was a town around here…”

The slow death of the American small town. Everyone who’s ever taken a drive more than a few miles off the interstate will often come acrossthe shrunken little town the main highway bypassed.  They are out there struggling to keep a community together just a few miles from the bustling super slab.

“Heaven Help Me”

“You can leave tomorrow instead of today but heaven help you if you throw it away…”

Stroll down the sidewalk to peer through the darkness at the end of the street.
